Job summary

Sugam Group is seeking an Assistant Manager Transport Procurement & Vehicle Hiring in Noida Sector 59 to lead market vehicle hiring and transport procurement for FTL operations with strong cost analysis, rate negotiation, and vendor management.

Responsibilities include developing a network of transporters, bidding in online reverse auctions, and ensuring profitable, cost-efficient transportation solutions aligned with business targets. 5.5 working days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in market vehicle hiring and transport procurement.
• Practical experience in FTL vehicle hiring and transporter rate negotiation.
• Expertise in online bidding, e-bidding, and reverse auction platforms.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of route-wise transportation costing and profitability calculations.

Responsibilities

• Manage market vehicle hiring and transport procurement for FTL operations.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of transporters, brokers, fleet owners, and vendors.
• Calculate end-to-end transportation costs for origin-to-destination routes, including per-kilometre costs, fuel, tolls, driver expenses, loading/unloading, detention, and other expenses.
• Participate in online bidding, e-bidding, and reverse auctions to secure profitable business.
• Analyse target rates, market rates, cost structures, and margins to support live bidding decisions.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
• Negotiate competitive rates with transporters and fleet owners to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate profitability and margins before finalising rates.
• Monitor market trends, vehicle availability, and transportation costs to support procurement decisions.
• Coordinate with internal sales and operations teams to meet customer requirements and targets.

The ideal candidate should have a strong network of brokers, fleet owners, and transporters, along with the commercial acumen to make quick, profitable decisions in highly competitive bidding scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage market vehicle hiring and transport procurement for FTL (Full Truck Load) operations.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of transporters, brokers, fleet owners, and vendors.
• Calculate end-to-end transportation costs for different origin-to-destination routes, considering per-kilometre running costs, fuel, tolls, driver expenses, loading/unloading, detention, and other operational expenses.
• Participate in online bidding, e-bidding, and reverse auctions to secure profitable business.
• Analyse target rates, market rates, cost structures, and margins to make quick commercial decisions during live bidding.
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
