Amor Management Consultants is seeking a logistics professional in Pune to manage transporter partnerships, optimize freight costs, and coordinate daily dispatches. The role focuses on efficient shipment movement, KPI-driven improvements, and regulatory compliance within a heavy engineering and automotive context.

Ideal candidates will onboard transport partners, negotiate rates, and drive continuous packing and process improvements to meet delivery timelines.

Role & responsibilities

Transporter Management & Logistics Planning:

• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard suitable transport partners such as Safex, Gati, Maruti, VRL, Delhivery, Blue Dart, and other logistics service providers.
• Select the most economical and efficient dispatch mode (Air, Surface, Cargo, Express, Full Truck Load, Part Load) based on shipment priority, cost, weight, volume, and delivery timelines.

Freight Cost Optimization:

• Drive logistics cost reduction initiatives without compromising service levels.
• Negotiate freight rates and annual contracts with transporters and logistics vendors.

Shipment Coordination & Dispatch Management

• Plan and execute daily dispatches as per customer requirements and committed TAT.
• Coordinate with warehouses, suppliers, transporters, and customers for seamless shipment movement.

Material Tracking & Delivery Monitoring:

• Track shipments from dispatch to delivery and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to committed Turnaround Time (TAT) and delivery schedules.

Packaging Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

• Lead Kaizen initiatives to improve packing materials and methodologies.
• Guide packing teams in selecting suitable packaging materials based on product shape, size, fragility, and transportation mode.

Transit Damage & Insurance Claim Management:

• Investigate transit damage cases and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with transporters, insurance agencies, and internal teams for claim processing.
• Ensure timely submission and closure of insurance claims.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with all transportation and logistics regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

Heavy engineering, construction equipment, automotive manufacturing preferred.
