Job summary

Fitsol Ltd. seeks a senior procurement professional in Tamil Nadu to lead transportation sourcing, vendor development, and fleet management. You will build a robust transporter network, negotiate rates and SLAs, and drive cost effectiveness across regions.

You will coordinate with Operations, Finance and Procurement teams, ensure compliance, and manage bids and contracts to support growth and service excellence.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in transportation sourcing, logistics procurement, fleet management, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in managing transporters across multiple locations and vehicle types.
• Exposure to warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop transportation vendors across regions.
• Build a robust network of transporters to support business requirements.
• Conduct vendor capability assessments and performance reviews.
• Maintain a qualified transporter database for various vehicle categories.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct market benchmarking and rate analysis.
• Manage annual and spot-bid sourcing activities.
• Ensure vehicle availability to meet operational requirements.
• Develop backup vendor arrangements during peak demand periods.
• Coordinate with operations teams to forecast vehicle requirements.
• Prepare and manage transportation contracts and agreements.
• Ensure vendor compliance with statutory, safety, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor contract performance and adherence to agreed terms.
• Track KPIs such as vehicle placement adherence, on-time pickup/delivery, and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Finance, Procurement, and Customer teams.
• Resolve transportation-related escalations and support new business implementations.

• Resolve transportation-related escalations and service issues.
• Support new business implementations and network expansion projects.
