Job summary

Thompsons Hr Consulting seeks a skilled tooling and manufacturing engineer in Tamil Nadu to handle tool room, die making, and fixture design. You will perform CNC programming, VMC setup, and precision machining including wire-cut EDM, lathe work, and surface grinding.

Proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM tools is essential to ensure high-quality outputs. You will engage with IATF 16949 processes, 5S practices, preventive maintenance, RCA, and SPMs to improve productivity and

Qualifications

• Experience with tool room and die making processes.
• Strong skills in GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Mastercam for design and programming.
• Familiar with IATF 16949, 5S, preventive maintenance and RCA.

Responsibilities

• Operate core tooling activities including tool room, die making and jig/fixture design.
• Perform CNC programming, VMC setup, and wire-cut EDM operations.
• work with lathes and surface grinding; apply G-code/M-code knowledge.
• Support automotive systems processes and SPMs; apply RCA when issues arise.

• Core Tooling: Tool Room, Tool & Die Making, Jig & Fixture Design, Assembly Fixtures, Checking Gauges, Press Tools.
• Machining & Programming: CNC Programming, VMC Setup, Wire-cut EDM, Conventional Lathe, Surface Grinding, G-codes & M-codes.
• Design & Engineering: GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), Blueprint Reading, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam.
• Automotive Systems: IATF 16949, 5S, Preventive Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
