Job summary

ERM Placement Services is seeking a tooling/fixture designer and process engineer to lead a team responsible for designing tooling and fixtures for heavy engineering fabrication. You will develop 3D designs in SolidWorks, create 2D drawings, and coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Supply Chain to implement improvements.

The role emphasizes standardizing processes and documentation, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of tooling/fixture designers and process engineers.
• Plan and prioritize tooling, fixture, and manufacturing technology activities.
• Design and develop tooling, welding fixtures, and Go/No-Go gauges for heavy engineering fabrication.
• Create 3D tooling designs in SolidWorks and 2D manufacturing drawings; use AutoCAD for layouts and DXF editing.
• Prepare tooling drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Design, and Supply Chain to implement tooling and process improvements.
• Standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Support new projects through tooling risk assessment and implementation planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers for tooling development, delivery, and acceptance.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and ensure compliance with quality, calibration, and company standards.
• Maintain SAP master data related to tooling, routings, and manufacturing documentation.
