Job summary

PY Power Solutions Llp in Salem, Tamil Nadu, seeks a Technician — Solar & Power Backup Systems to diagnose, repair and maintain solar and battery backup systems at customer sites within the Salem district. You will ensure warranty coverage is maintained and guide customers on best practices to extend system life.

Requirements include ITI in Electrical or Electronics or equivalent hands-on experience, plus knowledge of inverters, batteries and solar systems; a two-wheeler is required.

Qualifications

• ITI in Electrical or Electronics or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Working knowledge of inverters, batteries and solar systems — UPS or generator service background acceptable.
• Able to use a multi-meter, clamp meter and basic electrical test equipment confidently.
• Safe working practice around DC voltages, battery banks and rooftop installations.

Responsibilities

• Attend service calls at customer sites within the agreed response time.
• Diagnose faults in inverters, batteries, charge controllers, wiring and panel arrays.
• Carry out repairs on site where possible, and identify which units need to go back to the manufacturer.
• Perform preventive maintenance — terminal cleaning, connection tightening, battery health checks, panel cleaning guidance.
• Test and commission systems after installation by the contracted installer.
• Record every call: site, system details, fault found, work done, parts used, and whether the work falls under warranty.
• Advise customers on correct usage and on what will shorten system life.
• Flag recurring fault patterns so we can raise them with the manufacturer.

Technician — Solar & Power Backup Systems

Purpose of the role

Attend customer sites across Salem district to diagnose, repair and maintain solar and battery backup systems after installation, and keep systems within warranty running so that failures are resolved before they become complaints or replacements.

Core responsibilities

Attend service calls at customer sites within the agreed response time

Diagnose faults in inverters, batteries, charge controllers, wiring and panel arrays

Carry out repairs on site where possible, and identify which units need to go back to the manufacturer

Perform preventive maintenance — terminal cleaning, connection tightening, battery health checks, panel cleaning guidance

Test and commission systems after installation by the contracted installer

Record every call: site, system details, fault found, work done, parts used, and whether the work falls under warranty

Salary: 18,000+ per month. Company two-wheeler provided, fuel and travel reimbursed.
