Job summary

Teclogos Automation is seeking a Technical Writer to develop documentation for software and hardware products using the Client’s Framework. You will learn and master client products, work with Engineering and Product Marketing, and author content in a structured XML (DITA) environment, publishing to PDF and HTML.

You will also communicate with multiple teams, follow style guides, and manage tasks using standard tooling such as Madcap Flare, FrameMaker, InDesign, and Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• Certified Software Technical Writer is required.
• Bachelors or equivalent in engineering or science related domains.
• 1+ year of technical writing experience in a software product development company.

Responsibilities

• Learn and work with Client's software and hardware products.

Job description

1. Technical documentation for software and hardware products based on the Clients Framework. Main activities include:

• Learn and work with Clients software and hardware products.
• Communicate with internal team, Engineering, Product Marketing, and other tech departments.
• Learn clients customer Personas and their specific needs.
• Collaborate with other Technical Writers (client team) in a team environment.
• Author primarily in a structured XML environment (DITA), publishing in a variety of formats including PDF and HTML.

2. Daily tasks are primarily self-directed and include:

• Refer demos, videos and anything else that helps to collect pieces of information to make a larger picture.
• Write task-based topics with related concepts and reference topics as needed.
• Follow client Style Guide and workflow standards for authoring, review, and publishing.

3. Writer uses standard Technical Publications toolset of client, including the following:

• Madcap Flare
• Adobe tools (FrameMaker, InDesign, RoboHelp).
• Good to have knowledge & experience on Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
• Microsoft Office tools and general skills.
• Good to have knowledge of corporate tools for internal project updates/communications, for example:
• JIRA
• Confluence
• Kanban boards.

4. Review and check documents as per approved templates, checklist, and set standards.

Key Qualifications

• Certified Software Technical Writer
• Bachelors or equivalent degree in engineering or science relevant domains
• 1+ years of technical writing experience in a software product development company.

Skill required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including native-level competency in English.
• Capability to quickly learn complex technical concepts & product technicalities.
• Good time management & prioritization of assigned tasks & projects.

Industry Knowledge

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

• 1. Network controllers, building controls, security systems, industrial controls, data centers, or energy management tools and controls.
• 2. Communications protocols used in control systems, such as: BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, SNMP, or others.
• 3. Good to have understanding and experience with Agile product design & development.
