Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Technical Writer specialized in the Semiconductor Domain to craft end-user and service engineer documentation. The role requires 3–6 years of technical writing experience and strong command of English, DDLC, and structured authoring.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across geographies, ensuring content is accurate, reusable, and aligned with quality standards. Responsibilities include developing User Manuals, Upgrade Procedures, and Service Procedures, interviewing

• Knowledge of DDLC, structured authoring, content reuse, and single-sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update technical documentation for end users and service engineers - User's Manual, Upgrade Procedure, Service Procedures, Site Prep, and Safety Manuals.
• Conduct SME interviews with various users and technical/engineering/product staff to gather data for complex documentation for hardware applications.
• AI in addition to DITA and OxygenXML
• Interface with functional organizations to develop content for procedures.
• Create, develop, and edit operational, instructional, or maintenance procedures for software applications.
• Follow documentation best practices, formats, and templates, and publish output that conforms to company standards.
• Support testing and validation of new procedures and methods.
• Involve stakeholders from various departments and assess the need to update documentation.
• Monitor content quality errors, editorial suggestions, and implement changes.

Position: Technical writer (Semiconductor Domain)

Experience: 3 to 6 years

Requirements:

• Excellent English language communication and written skills.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3 to 6 years of technical writing experience.
• Rich knowledge in Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC), structured authoring, content reuse, and single-sourcing.
• Experience in the following content authoring, publishing, and governance tools: DITA-XML, OxygenXML Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, MS Office, CCMS (Ixiasoft), Fluid Topics (Content Delivery Platform), SnagIt, Acrobat Pro, and ServiceNow helpdesk.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different geographies, able to conduct online meetings in different time zones and collaborate comfortably with members of team from diverse cultures.
• Ability to track tasks, actions and provide regular updates.
• Ability to create and maintain tasks and documentation trackers.
