Job summary

Vector Consulting Group is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our product team in Thane. You will produce high-quality user manuals and technical documentation, turning complex software specifications into clear, actionable guides for both technical and non-technical readers.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of software documentation experience, a relevant Bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Confluence, MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, Git/GitHub, Snagit, and Lucidchart.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in technical writing, specifically for software products.

Responsibilities

• Plan, research, and write clear user manuals, how-to guides, and SOPs for our software.
• Partner with product team to understand new features and ensure technical accuracy in content.
• Regularly review and update documentation to reflect software updates and changes.
• Create visual aids like diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, and instructional videos.
• Collect and analyze user feedback to improve usability of documentation.
• Own the production of release notes and documentation for every product launch.
• Learn SDLC concepts and write for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure consistency, grammar, and technical accuracy across docs.

We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our product team. You will be responsible for creating high-quality, comprehensive user manuals and technical documentation that make our software easy to understand and operate. Your goal is to improve the user experience by transforming intricate technical specifications into clear, actionable guides.

Role & Responsibilities

• Documentation Creation: Plan, research, and write clear user manuals, "how-to" guides, and SOP for our software.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with product team to understand new features and ensure technical accuracy in all content.
• Content Maintenance: Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect software updates, new releases, and changes in functionality.
• Visual Communication: Create or collaborate on visual aids like diagrams, screenshots, flowcharts, and instructional videos to enhance user comprehension.
• User Feedback Integration: Collect and analyze user feedback to identify areas where documentation can be improved for better usability.
• Release Management: Own the production of release notes and documentation for every product launch cycle.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts, including basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Writing Mastery: Exceptional command of English with the ability to write in an explanatory and procedural style for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for consistency, grammar, and technical accuracy.

Tool Proficiency: Experience with standard authoring and documentation tools like -

Publishing: Confluence, MadCap Flare, or Adobe FrameMaker.
Version Control: Git or GitHub.
Visuals: Snagit, Lucidchart, or similar screen-capture/diagramming software.
