Saint-Gobain is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead Work Permit Management, Legal & Company Compliance, Risk Assessment & Hazard Control, and Safety Audits across its operations in India. This role requires monitoring permits, conducting risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), implementing controls, and maintaining documentation.
The incumbent will drive employee engagement in safety programs, manage waste and environmental protection initiatives, and produce safety dashboards and incident reports using MS
1. Work Permit Management Review, issue, and monitor work permits such as hot work, height work, confined space, electrical, and other hazardous activities. Ensure all safety requirements are fulfilled before work execution. Conduct site verification for permit compliance.
2. Legal & Company Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable legal safety and environmental regulations. Ensure adherence to Saint-Gobain EHS standards and internal policies. Maintain documentation and records required for audits and inspections.
3. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments (HIRA / JSA). Implement control measures to assess and minimize risks and environmental aspects. Monitor effectiveness of implemented safety controls.
4. Safety Audits & Inspections Conduct routine EHS inspections and audits across departments. Track and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions. Support internal and external EHS audits.
5. Employee Engagement in Safety Promote involvement of employees in EHS initiatives such as safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and training programs. Support safety committees and encourage reporting of unsafe conditions and near misses.
6. Environmental Management Monitor activities related to waste management and environmental protection. Support initiatives to minimize non-recovered wastes and environmental impacts. Ensure proper handling, segregation, and disposal of waste.
7. Documentation & Reporting Maintain EHS records, reports, and dashboards using MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Prepare presentations, incident reports, and safety statistics. Track action plans and compliance status. Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge of work permit systems and risk assessment techniques. Understanding of safety audits, inspections, and incident investigation. Strong observation, communication, and coordination skills
