Job summary

Saint Gobain is seeking a Safety & EHS professional to drive accident investigation, PTW monitoring, fire safety management, noise monitoring and risk assessments at our Gujarat site.

You will lead audits, SMAT and pillar updates, coordinate contractor safety, and ensure compliance through regular meetings and action plans to continuously improve workplace safety.

Qualifications

• Accident investigations and causal analysis.
• PTW monitoring and compliance actions.
• Fire safety system inspection and readiness.
• Noise surveys and high-noise area control measures.
• Structured risk assessments and preventive actions.
• Regular H&S pillar meetings and MoM tracking.
• SMAT allocation and task verification.
• Safety audits and contractor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Investigate accidents and develop corrective actions.
• Monitor and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
• Inspect fire safety equipment (extinguishers, SCBA) and related systems.
• Conduct noise surveys and identify high-noise zones with controls.
• Perform risk assessments and implement risk reduction plans.
• Lead H&S pillar meetings and maintain MoM documentation.
• Allocate SMAT tasks and ensure coverage.
• Coordinate safety audits, contractor controls, and safety improvements.

Job Description

1.Accident Investigation

1. TFx investigation monthly
2. Analysis of incident/develop action plan
3. Analysis of critical unsafe condition & develop plan to address

Reduced accidents and improved safety levels

2.Implement PTW

(Permit to work)

1. Monitoring PTW
2. Audits and action Plan on findings & follow up to ensure safety

Reduced accidents and improved safety levels

3.Fire Fighting system management

1. Regular inspection of Fire extinguisher and ensure its functioning properly.
2. Regular inspection of SCBA and Fire hydrate system and ensure its functioning properly.

Fire emergency preparedness

4.Noise monitoring

1. Conduct Noise Survey
2. Identification of high noise area and monitoring of red zones
3. Provide Suitable Control measures.

Audit and Follow up action plan

5.Risk assessment

% adherence to plan

Identification and risks and their reduction thus improving safety levels

6.H & S Pillar

Conduct Meeting Regularly, Prepare MoM and ensure its compliance

Monthly updates of pillar board as per requirements.

7.SMAT Management

1. Allocation of SMAT to each trained member based on critical task in respective area.
2. Analysis of SMAT

Ensure all task covered under SMAT & each employee must be SMATed.

8.Audits

1. Control of contractors, Work permit, work at height, LOTO, Forklift safety, EHS 20 step audit
2. Coordinate with each champions about their standard progress
