Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a seasoned Team Leader – Logistics to manage end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics for major projects in India. You will lead a team, coordinate with projects, operations, and finance, and ensure compliant, cost-effective logistics execution.

The role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to drive transport efficiency, supplier management, and timely dispatches across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years of relevant logistics experience in project business.
• Experience in leading a team in current/past assignments.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical, cost modeling, and commercial evaluation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all inbound and outbound logistics for the project scope.
• Coordinate vehicle placement and transporter selection based on shipment dimensions.
• Liaise with Project Managers and SCM teams to ensure timely dispatches.
• Monitor shipments and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate surveyor inspections for ODC consignments to meet insurance needs.
• Create and manage monthly Open POs for transporters and verify transporter invoices.
• Perform GRN bookings and maintain transporter performance records.

Team Lead – Logistics is responsible for managing end-to-end Logistics for all inbound and outbound logistics activities. The role requires strong team management skills, commercial acumen, supplier management expertise, and cross-functional coordination with projects, operations, and finance teams.

How You'll Make an Impact (Team Leader Logistics, TI-STG, India)

• Manage all inbound and outbound logistics pickup requests.
• Evaluate shipment weight and dimensions to determine the appropriate vehicle type and coordinate vehicle placement through approved transporters.
• Liaise closely with Project Managers and SCM teams to ensure timely dispatches from vendors to customers.
• Monitor and track all shipments, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate surveyor inspections for ODC (Over Dimensional Cargo) consignments to facilitate insurance requirements.
• Arrange and monitor route surveys for ODC consignments to ensure safe and compliant transportation.
• Verify and cross-check pickup requests against material dimensions and weight to ensure correct vehicle deployment.
• Create monthly Open Purchase Orders (POs) for all transporters.
• Verify and approve monthly transporter invoices and bills.
• Validate transporter transactions against rate contracts, ensuring accuracy in vehicle type, distance, approved detention charges, and ODC RTO expenses.
• Process final PO amendments based on verified transporter transactions and contractual rates.
• Perform GRN (Goods Receipt Note) bookings for vendor invoices through the IPEP portal after verifying all supporting documents.
• Maintain transporter performance records, particularly cases where transporters decline vehicle placement for specific regions, to support contract renewal evaluations.
• Maintain ProjectWise cost overrun records for transportation and detention charges.
• Maintain and monitor records of cargo damage cases for all consignments and follow up on corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal and contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit-ready records.

What You Bring

• You should hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• You should have 15+ years of relevant experience of handling logistics in project business.
• You must have experience of handling team in his/her current/past assignments.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical, cost modeling, and commercial evaluation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects.
