A Snapshot of Your Day (Warehouse & Stores Manager)

As the Warehouse & Stores Manager, you will lead the end-to-end warehouse, inventory, material planning, logistics, and dispatch operations for the Electrification Business – Distribution Solutions Division. You will play a critical role in ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and on-time customer deliveries while balancing inventory investment and business performance.

In this leadership role, you will oversee warehouse operations, material planning, logistics coordination, supplier collaboration, and inventory optimization initiatives. Working closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams, you will drive continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, digitalization, and data-driven decision-making. We are looking for an experienced supply chain professional with strong expertise in warehouse management, logistics, inventory control, and team leadership who can contribute to operational excellence and customer satisfaction while supporting sustainable business growth.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Lead end-to-end warehouse and stores operations, including receipt, storage, handling, preservation, picking, and dispatch of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, finished goods, packing materials, and spare parts.
• Ensure high inventory accuracy through effective implementation of FIFO/FEFO practices, cycle counting, stock audits, bin management, and SAP-based inventory control processes.
• Optimize warehouse space utilization, storage systems, and material flow processes to support operational efficiency and business growth.
• Maintain warehouse documentation, goods receipt compliance, inventory records, and adherence to safety, quality, and ISO requirements.
• Drive Lean Warehouse initiatives, 5S implementation, and continuous improvement programs to enhance productivity and reduce operational waste.
• Ensure material availability by managing MRP-driven planning, safety stock levels, reorder parameters, and inventory segmentation strategies.
• Monitor material shortages, critical components, and long lead-time items while implementing proactive mitigation plans to support uninterrupted production.
• Balance inventory investment with customer service levels and production requirements to maximize working capital efficiency.
• Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, transportation activities, warehousing operations, and customer dispatch requirements.
• Ensure timely dispatches and achieve On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance for customers.
• Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and operational alignment.
• Drive logistics optimization through efficient transportation planning, route optimization, vehicle utilization, and freight cost management.
• Partner with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure reliable material supply, delivery performance, and inventory availability.
• Coordinate import material planning, shipment tracking, customs clearance activities, and inventory buffers for critical materials.
• Support supply chain risk mitigation initiatives through alternate sourcing strategies and proactive supply planning.
• Utilize SAP/ERP systems, analytics tools, dashboards, and digital platforms to monitor inventory, logistics performance, and operational effectiveness.
• Develop, track, and report key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy, OTIF delivery, warehouse productivity, logistics costs, working capital, and material availability.
• Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives across warehouse and supply chain operations to improve efficiency and visibility.
• Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and stores teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, quality standards, and safety requirements while supporting overall business objectives.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• MBA or PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in Warehouse Management, Stores Operations, Inventory Control, Logistics, Materials Management, or Supply Chain functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in SAP/ERP systems, particularly inventory management, warehouse operations, material planning, and logistics-related modules.
• In-depth knowledge of MRP processes, inventory planning, warehouse management practices, and logistics operations.
• Proven experience in Lean methodologies, 5S implementation, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation management, order fulfilment processes, and supply chain best practices.
• Experience managing supplier coordination, imported materials, shipment planning, and critical inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data analytics tools for performance tracking and decision-making.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and convert insights into actionable improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to build, lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of working capital management, cost optimization, and operational efficiency drivers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing and supply chain environment.
