Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a Business Development Professional - AIS/GIS to drive high‑voltage product growth across the Northern region. You will analyze HV GIS/AIS specifications, craft technically compliant solutions, and coordinate pre‑bid activities with regional teams and customers to secure profitable opportunities.

The role requires 6–8 years of HV GIS/Switchgear experience, strong commercial understanding of export terms, and excellent communication to navigate

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 6–8 years of experience in high‑voltage GIS/switchgear, preferably in export markets.
• Strong knowledge of GIS AIS configurations and high‑voltage substation concepts.
• Understanding of export controls, Incoterms, payment terms and cross‑border regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technical specs and SLDs for HV GIS/AIS to propose suitable solutions.
• Prepare pre‑bid efforts, engage regions and customers for technical and commercial closure.
• Define go‑to‑market strategy and drive portfolio competitiveness with value selling.
• Lead cross‑functional collaboration for tender evaluation and bid mitigation plans.
• Generate monthly regional MIS reports and ensure timely bid submissions.

Will be responsible for Business development of High Voltage products which includes GIS/AIS Spare Parts -Accessories, Field Services, HV Circuit breaker Retrofit, Refurbishment, Substation Modifications, uprating, GIS / AIS Bay Extensions, Planned Maintenance and Inspection, Reactive Maintenance and Repairs, Operation and Maintenance-O&M, Project Services, Transformers and Digital Services in the Northern region of India.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Analyze Technical specifications, SLD of HV Circuit breakers/GIS and configure suitable technical solutions based on customer requirements.
• Very good application know to ensure technically compliant solutions are proposed at pre bid/offer stage.
• Advocate customers on innovative and optimized solutions optimizing substation complexity & life cycle costs.
• Submission of pre bid clarifications and proactive engagement with regions/customers for technical & commercial closure.
• Prepare innovative & optimized technical solutions according to customer needs collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
• Evaluation of tender terms and conditions to arrive at risks & opportunity involved in the bid and prepare suitable mitigation plan during bid release process.
• Should be flexible to adopt to different regions/markets/products as per business priorities progressively.
• Defining Go to Market Strategy, driving portfolio competitiveness by promoting value selling points to customers.
• Timely submission of offers meeting customer deadlines while complying to internal processes.
• To be able to lead & collaborate with Regional Companies, Customers in establishing strong networking & relation, understanding the intercultural sensitivity.
• Prepare monthly MIS reporting (Eg: Order forecast analysis, Go rate, Get rate, Competitor landscape analysis etc.,) for responsible regions & products.
• Drive Homologation in Export Markets by transforming customer expectations to internal value chain efficiently and ensure successful qualification of products and factory processes in line with end user requirements.

What You Bring

• B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 6-8 years of experience in handling High voltage GIS/Switchgear preferably in exports markets.
• Very good technical know-how on Gas Insulated substation configurations.
• In depth knowledge on Commercial terms and conditions, Export control & taxation guidelines.
• Knowledge on International regulations, technical standards, Legal regulations for overseas markets.
• Clear understanding of entire Offer - Commissioning process of GIS Substation.A very good Team Player with high commitment/willingness to go beyond extra mile.
• Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel & Power Points and working knowledge of MS office tools like MS Projects, Power BI etc added advantage.
• Agile to work in complex, dynamic & deadline consciousness environment.
• Good understanding of Incoterms, Payment terms, FOREX, contractual liabilities.
• Professional expertise in MS Office (Eg: Excel, Power point, SAP, Share points, SFDC).
• Extraordinary Intercultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-national and multi-cultural team.
• Excellent written & verbal communication, presentation & negotiation skills with foreign language expertise will be an added advantage.

Our product portfolio includes AIS (upto 800 kV), GIS (upto 420 kV), Power Transformers (upto 765 kV, 500 MVA), Reactors (upto 765 kV), Traction Transformers (upto 33 kV, 10 MVA). We provide EPC for high and extra high voltage projects pertinent to AIS/GIS, Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) devices and High Voltage Direct Current Voltage Source Converter (HVDC VSC) technology.
