Job summary

Bilvantis Technologies invites a seasoned Support Engineer to join as Lead Programmer Analyst. You will provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise apps, primarily on Unix/Linux with WebSphere environments, managing batch jobs using Control-M.

You will develop shell scripts for automation, perform deployments, analyze logs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues. Strong communication and a proactive, adaptive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• : 5–7 years of support engineering experience.
• Experience in Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
• Strong SQL skills including joins, subqueries, data validation and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on with Control-M scheduling and batch job monitoring.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server / WebSphere Liberty.
• Experience in deployment, configuration, startup/shutdown and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of production support processes and ITIL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to provide daily status reports.
• Good team player; proactive and adaptive.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise applications.
• Monitor and troubleshoot applications on WebSphere / WebSphere Liberty.
• Perform Unix/Linux system monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automation.
• Monitor and manage batch jobs using Control-M.
• Troubleshoot Control-M job failures and scheduling issues; rerun as needed.
• Write and execute SQL queries for validation and analysis.
• Analyze application logs to identify root causes of issues.
• Perform deployments, configuration changes and restarts.
• Coordinate with development, DB, infra and support teams for issue resolution.
• Handle incidents, service requests and changes within SLAs.
• Participate in production releases and post-deployment support.
• Prepare runbooks and support procedures; participate in on-call/weekend shifts.
• Identify repetitive tasks and implement automation where possible.
