Job summary

Purview Services in Pune, India seeks an experienced IBM iSeries developer to design, develop, test and maintain applications using RPGLE CLLE SQLRPGLE and DB2400. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and develop new capabilities while enhancing existing systems.

Responsibilities include API development for REST integrations, DevOps CICD with Jenkins/ARCAD, GitHub version control, and production support with incident resolution and performance tuning. Mentoring is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in IBM MQ, Tivoli Workload Scheduler and IBM-MDM.
• Experience with IBM Watsonx.ai is a plus.
• Strong understanding of IBM iSeries technology stack and RPGLE CLLE SQLRPGLE DB2400.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain IBM iSeries applications using RPGLE CLLE SQLRPGLE and DB2400.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop new functionalities and enhance existing applications.
• Create and maintain technical design documents, unit test plans and deployment documentation.
• Perform impact analysis and provide accurate effort estimations.
• Develop and optimize DB2400 database objects, queries, stored procedures and SQL programs.
• Develop and consume REST APIs for integration with external systems; use Postman/Insomnia for testing.
• Participate in CICD implementation using Jenkins and ARCAD; manage source code with GitHub.
• Provide production support, incident resolution and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Architects and Project Managers; mentor junior developers.

Role & responsibilities

Development Enhancement

• Design develop test and maintain IBM iSeries applications using RPGLE CLLE SQLRPGLE and DB2400
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop new functionalities and enhance existing applications
• Create and maintain technical design documents unit test plans and deployment documentation
• Perform impact analysis and provide accurate effort estimations

Database Management

• Develop and optimize DB2400 database objects queries stored procedures and SQL programs
• Work with PostgreSQL databases for integrated applications and reporting solutions
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize database operations

Integration API Development

• Develop and consume REST APIs for integration with external systems
• Work with API testing tools such as Postman and Insomnia
• Support application modernization and integration initiatives involving Javabased services

DevOps CICD

• Participate in CICD implementation using Jenkins and ARCAD
• Manage source code using GitHub repositories and branching strategies
• Support build deployment and release management activities
• Implement automated testing and quality assurance processes

Support Maintenance

• Provide production support and incident resolution
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues
• Monitor batch jobs interfaces and system performance
• Participate in oncall support and critical issue management as required

Collaboration

• Work closely with Business Analysts QA teams Architects and Project Managers
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning Daily Standups Reviews and Retrospectives
• Mentor junior developers and support knowledgesharing initiatives
