Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced Support Engineer with 8 to 12 years of cloud infrastructure, application support, and production operations across AWS and Google Cloud. The role emphasizes hands-on GCP, Kubernetes, and GKE, and a track record of supporting enterprise environments.

You will provide L2/L3 support, manage Kubernetes clusters, assist with deployments, monitor health, and drive incident resolution.

We are looking for an experienced Support Engineer with 8 to 12 years of expertise in cloud infrastructure, application support, and production operations across AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in GCP, Kubernetes, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), along with a proven track record of supporting business-critical applications and cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments.

What You'll Do:

• Provide L2 and L3 support for cloud infrastructure and business-critical applications running on AWS and GCP.
• Manage, monitor, and support Kubernetes and GKE-based application environments.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, networking, and platform-related issues.
• Support production deployments, release activities, and application maintenance processes.
• Monitor platform performance, capacity, availability, and system health using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Analyze incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve application issues and improve platform reliability.
• Support containerized applications deployed on Kubernetes clusters.
• Ensure compliance with operational processes, security standards, and governance requirements.
• Participate in production readiness reviews and operational acceptance activities.
• Automate operational tasks and contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with architects, DevOps teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and operational bottlenecks and proactively drive resolution.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and support procedures.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and critical incident management processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and engineering best practices.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Infrastructure Support, Application Support, Cloud Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Extensive experience managing and supporting Kubernetes environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience supporting cloud‑based applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring concepts.
• Experience managing containerized applications and microservices‑based architectures.
• Knowledge of incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, or similar solutions.
• Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, performance optimization, and operational best practices.
• Experience working in Agile and cross‑functional delivery teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to independently manage priorities and drive issue resolution in fast‑paced environments.
