Job summary

Persistent Systems in Hyderabad, India is seeking an experienced DevOps GCP Engineer with 12–14 years of hands-on expertise to design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform.

You will own enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Jenkins; implement Terraform-based IaC; automate builds, tests, deployments, and release management; and drive security, monitoring, and reliability across environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on DevOps experience in GCP and cloud-native apps.
• Proficient in CI/CD design, IaC, and automation.
• Strong scripting in Shell and PowerShell.
• Experience with security/quality integration in pipelines.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps GCP Engineer with 12 to 14 years of hands‑on expertise in building, deploying, and managing scalable cloud‑native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CI/CD pipeline design, Kubernetes‑based container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud automation, and enterprise DevOps practices.

What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑grade CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and related DevOps tools.
• Automate application build, testing, deployment, and release management processes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell Scripting and PowerShell.
• Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized applications using Kubernetes and cloud‑native technologies.
• Support microservices‑based applications and distributed system architectures.
• Implement deployment strategies such as Blue‑Green, Canary, Rolling, and Big Bang deployments.
• Integrate security and quality tools such as Veracode, Black Duck, SonarQube, Lighthouse, AppDynamics, and Cypress into CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide ongoing build, deployment, and production support across multiple environments.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline release processes and improve software delivery efficiency.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, application deployment, networking, and platform‑related issues.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
• Develop Pipeline as Code solutions and automate operational workflows.
• Support cloud migration, modernization, and platform transformation initiatives.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for proactive issue detection.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize deployment speed, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in architecture discussions and recommend DevOps and cloud best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor team members and promote DevOps culture across engineering teams.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 12 to 14 years of experience in DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud architecture.
• Hands‑on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
• Expertise in Shell Scripting and PowerShell Scripting for automation and operational management.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Knowledge of Pipeline as Code and automated deployment frameworks.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Experience working with microservices architectures and cloud‑native application deployments.
• Knowledge of deployment methodologies including Blue‑Green, Canary, and Big Bang deployment strategies.
• Experience integrating application security and quality assessment tools such as Veracode, Black Duck, SonarQube, AppDynamics, and Cypress.
• Experience providing production deployment support and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Strong Linux and Windows system administration experience.
• Experience working with databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of networking, security, authentication, and cloud governance principles.
• Proven debugging and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum software development environments.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities.
