Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced Senior GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and manage enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability. The role involves Terraform-driven IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-functional collaboration with data and AI teams.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on GCP expertise across services and architectures.
• Expert-level Terraform for infrastructure automation and modular design.
• Experience with IaC adoption, governance, and security controls.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, and security architecture.
• Proficient in building scalable, highly available cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules for enterprise cloud environments.
• Implement IaC best practices across dev, test, staging, and production.
• Provision and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform and automation frameworks.
• Build cloud environments from scratch using GCP services and automation.
• Configure and manage Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, Secret Manager, and Load Balancing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infra and app deployments.
• Implement governance, versioning, and automated code reviews.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, high availability, and DR readiness.
• Configure networking: VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, DNS, SSL.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps practices.

We are seeking an experienced Senior GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, automating, and managing enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure while ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for enterprise cloud environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Provision and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform and automation frameworks.
• Build complete cloud environments from scratch using GCP services and infrastructure automation.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native solutions leveraging GCP services.
• Configure and maintain Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Firestore, IAM, Secret Manager, and Load Balancing services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement infrastructure versioning, automated code reviews, governance controls, and deployment strategies.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Configure and manage networking components including VPCs, Subnets, Firewall Rules, Private Connectivity, DNS, and SSL Certificates.
• Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), Service Accounts, and security controls.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions using Cloud Monitoring and related tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues and execute root cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Develop operational runbooks, architecture documentation, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and AI/ML teams to build secure and scalable data and AI platforms.
• Support infrastructure required for Vertex AI Agent Engine, Vertex AI Search, Model Armor, and AI-driven workloads.
• Implement security, compliance, and governance standards across cloud environments.
• Participate in architecture discussions and recommend cloud optimization strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expert-level experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and reusable module development.
• Extensive experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security architecture, and access management.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automated deployment practices.
