Job summary

Sri Gowrish CNC Private Limited invites applications for a Procurement Engineer to strengthen the Subcontract Vendor Sourcing & Development team in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Experience 2–5 years (freshers may apply) with Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Salary as per market standards. Responsibilities include sourcing new subcontract vendors, RFQ management, cost negotiation, and ensuring QCD through Lean improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 2–5 years of experience in Procurement / Purchase / Vendor Development / Subcontract Procurement.
• Freshers with strong mechanical knowledge may apply.
• Knowledge of ERP / SAP and MS Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new subcontract vendors.
• Identify vendors for CNC/VMC machining, fabrication, welding, plating, powder coating, painting and other processes.
• Vendor qualification, evaluation and onboarding.
• Float RFQs and evaluate quotations.
• Negotiate costs and benchmark for cost reductions.
• Interpret and understand engineering drawings.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
• Monitor supplier quality, cost and delivery (QCD).
• Maintain supplier scorecards and support supplier audits.
• Handle supplier grievances and corrective actions.
• Develop alternate sources and strengthen the vendor network.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering and SCM teams.
• Drive supplier improvements through Lean methodologies.

• Good negotiation, communication & analytical skills
• Knowledge of special processes such as Plating, Powder Coating, Painting & Welding will be an advantage
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations
• Two-wheeler and willingness to travel for vendor visits preferred
