Job summary

HYKON INDIA LIMITED in Coimbatore seeks a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Strategic Sourcing to develop suppliers, source mechanical components, and drive cost, quality and delivery improvements across engineering projects.

You will analyse drawings and BOMs, negotiate terms, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to ensure competitive, technically sound purchases and continuous supply.

Experience in should-costing, VA/VE and strong MS Excel/ERP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering graduate with 4 years of experience in Mechanical Sourcing / Strategic Procurement.
• Experience in sourcing mechanical components from manufacturing suppliers.
• Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and raw materials.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.
• Strong negotiation and supplier development skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems.
• Cost estimation, should-costing and target costing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new suppliers for mechanical components.
• Source machined parts, sheet metal, fabricated parts, castings, forgings, and other components.
• Evaluate suppliers on capability, quality, cost, capacity and delivery.
• Develop alternate sources to improve competitiveness and continuity.
• Prepare cost estimates from drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Negotiate price, tooling, MOQ, payment terms and lead times.
