Job summary

Mak Controls in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer to lead the end-to-end vendor development pipeline within the Supply Chain Management team. You will ensure high quality, cost efficiency, and alignment with manufacturing standards.

The role emphasizes vendor and supplier management, cost negotiation, and technical sourcing across fabrication, machining, and surface treatment.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor development.
• Experience with ISO 9001-2015 and AS 9100 Rev D quality systems is preferred.
• Exposure to SAP is a major advantage.

Responsibilities

• Vendor & Supplier Management: handle sourcing, new vendor development, supplier assessment and audits.
• Commercial Negotiation: lead cost negotiation and perform cost comparisons to optimize procurement expenses.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our Supply Chain Management team. The ideal candidate will take charge of our end-to-end vendor development pipeline, ensuring high quality, cost efficiency, and strong technical alignment with our manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor & Supplier Management: Handle comprehensive vendor sourcing, new vendor development, regular supplier assessment, and rigorous quality auditing.


• Commercial Negotiation: Lead cost negotiation processes and perform detailed cost comparisons to optimize procurement expenses.


• Technical Sourcing: Evaluate external vendor resource capabilities specifically across fabrication, machining, and surface treatment facilities.

Required Technical Skills

• Cycle Time Estimation: Deep understanding of machining and fabrication process cycle times.


• Manufacturing Processes: Thorough knowledge of sheet metal operations, manufacturing sequencing, and various surface treatment methods.


• Welding Knowledge: Familiarity with standard industrial welding processes, including TIG, MIG, and ARC welding.


• Engineering Drawings: Must possess excellent blueprint and engineering drawing study knowledge.

Qualifications & Preferences

• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.


• Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor development.


• Quality Standards: Experience working within ISO 9001-2015 and AS 9100 Rev D quality management systems.


• Software: Prior exposure or hands-on experience with SAP is a major added advantage.
