Job summary

Johnson Electric Group in Chennai is seeking an Officer Stores with 5–10 years of experience to manage inventory control, cycle counting, and stores operations. You will ensure stock accuracy, coordinate with Planning, Production, Procurement, and Quality, and maintain proper documentation for all transactions to support uninterrupted production lines.

The role requires strong knowledge of warehouse operations, cycle counting, and proficiency with Oracle ERP.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations.
• Experience in cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle).
• Basic knowledge of 5S and safety practices.
• Managing inventory accuracy across multiple materials/locations with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure physical stock matches system stock.
• Identify, analyze, and report inventory discrepancies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve variances.
• Maintain cycle count accuracy as per company targets.
• Manage inward and outward material movements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and identification of materials.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
• Monitor stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
• Support material availability for production lines with Planning, Production, Procurement, and Quality teams.
• Escalate critical stock issues on time.
• Inventory Control & Improvement.
• Analyze root causes for stock discrepancies.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
• Follow safety guidelines in stores operations.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain 5S standards in warehouse/storage areas.
