Job Description

Staff Nurse – Cath Lab is responsible for providing specialized nursing care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The assists cardiologists, prepares patients and equipment, monitors patient status, and ensures safe, sterile, and efficient Cath Lab operations.

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures.
• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as prescribed.
• Monitor ECG, vital signs, and hemodynamic status throughout procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection prevention practices.
• Prepare and manage Cath Lab equipment and consumables.
• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies and complications.
• Maintain nursing documentation and procedural records.
• Educate patients regarding pre- and post-procedure care.
• Coordinate with Cath Lab technicians, cardiologists, ICU staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with NABH standards and Cath Lab protocols.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Cath Lab Nursing In-charge.
