Job Description
Staff Nurse - CCU is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with cardiac and cardiovascular conditions requiring close monitoring and specialized treatment. The includes cardiac monitoring, medication administration, emergency care, patient assessment, documentation, and coordination with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients admitted to the CCU.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, ECG readings, and oxygen saturation.
- Assess patients for changes in cardiac and clinical condition.
- Administer prescribed cardiac medications, IV fluids, and treatments.
- Monitor patients receiving infusions and other cardiac therapies.
- Assist cardiologists during procedures and clinical interventions.
- Identify and promptly report arrhythmias, chest pain, hemodynamic changes, and other abnormalities.
- Assist during cardiac emergencies, CPR, and resuscitation.
- Prepare patients for cardiac investigations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, ECG records, and treatment documentation.
- Monitor fluid balance and other relevant clinical parameters.
- Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and crash carts.
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety practices.
- Coordinate with cardiologists, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Participate in clinical rounds and shift handovers.
- Provide appropriate patient and family education.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Participate in quality-improvement and clinical audit activities.
- Follow CCU protocols, hospital SOPs, and professional nursing standards.
