Position: Senior Technician – Cath Lab
Department: Cath Lab / Cardiology
Location: Felix Hospital, Gamma-1, Greater Noida
Reporting To: Cath Lab In-Charge / HOD – Cardiology

Job Summary

The Senior Cath Lab Technician will be responsible for assisting cardiologists and the clinical team in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring smooth Cath Lab operations, patient safety, equipment readiness, infection control, and compliance with hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists duringCAG, PTCA/PCI, angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation and other Cath Lab procedures.
• Prepare the Cath Lab, equipment, instruments, consumables and sterile sets before procedures.
• Operate and monitor Cath Lab equipment, includingfluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring and ECG systems.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field and follow strict infection-control protocols.
• Assist in patient preparation, positioning and transfer before and after procedures.
• Monitor and record patient vitals and hemodynamic parameters during procedures.
• Ensure availability and proper handling ofcatheters, guidewires, balloons, stents and other consumables.
• Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and assist the clinical team during emergency/Code Blue situations.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of Cath Lab equipment and instruments.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and immediately report equipment malfunction to the concerned authority.
• Maintain accurateprocedure records, patient documentation, equipment logs and consumable records.
• Monitor Cath Lab inventory and coordinate with Stores/Purchase for timely replenishment.
• Ensure compliance withradiation safety, infection control, biomedical waste management and hospital safety protocols.
• Follow applicableAERB/radiation safety requirements and report radiation-related incidents as per hospital policy.
• Guide, train and supervise junior Cath Lab technicians and support staff.
• Coordinate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, ICU/OT, emergency and other concerned departments.
• Participate in quality improvement, audits and accreditation-related activities.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline and operational readiness of the Cath Lab.
• Perform other duties assigned by the HOD/Cath Lab In-Charge.

Qualification

• B.Sc./Diploma in Cardiac Care Technology / Cath Lab Technology / Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
• BLS/ACLS certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant Cath Lab experience, preferably in a multi-specialty hospital.
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures will be preferred.
