Job Description

The Cath Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting cardiac catheterization procedures, preparing cath lab equipment, assisting cardiologists, monitoring patient vitals, maintaining procedure documentation, and ensuring equipment readiness.

• Prepare cath lab equipment, monitors, catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, and consumables before procedures.
• Assist cardiologists during angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker, and other cath lab procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, ECG, oxygen saturation, and procedure‑related parameters.
• Operate cath lab machines and imaging systems under approved departmental protocols.
• Verify patient identity, procedure details, consent, reports, and pre‑procedure checklist.
• Support patient preparation, shifting, positioning, and post‑procedure transfer.
• Maintain sterile field support and follow strict infection control practices.
• Coordinate with cardiologists, cath lab nurses, anesthesia, ICU, emergency, and biomedical teams.
• Maintain procedure records, equipment logs, consumable usage, and cath lab documentation.
• Report equipment malfunction, stock shortage, or patient safety concerns to seniors promptly.
• Assist in emergency cardiac procedures with calm and disciplined support.
• Ensure availability of emergency drugs, oxygen, defibrillator, and life‑saving equipment.
• Follow radiation safety, PPE, biomedical waste, and cath lab safety standards.
• Support cleaning, disinfection, and room readiness after each procedure.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and timely cath lab procedure support.
