Job summary

Ashok Leyland in India seeks a professional to drive New Part Development across Castings, Forging, Bar Machining and Fasteners from proto to production. The role ensures PPAP readiness, sample parts approval, tooling approval, and bulk SOP approvals.

You will coordinate with NPDQ, Domain and EDM as internal customers, assess DFM with PD and suppliers, and resolve line-side issues with SQE while driving digitalization and facility upgrades across domains.

Responsibilities

• New Part Development: Sample parts inspection and approval
• Tooling approval and tooled up parts approval
• PPAP Audit & Bulk Approval for SOP
• Alternate Source Development: Currentsupplier quality issues Resolution
• Horizontal deployment of best practices
• Part of CFT (Domain, NPQ, FE) Scope: Assessment on QCLDM & Commodity Specific
• Lineside issue resolution along with SQE (12 MRO)
• Field failure resolution along with FQC (12 MRO)
• Establish implementation of corrective action at supplier end - resubmission and review of PPAP
• Digitalization
• Horizontal deployment of improvements across domains
• Upgradation of facilities
• Key Challenges of the role :- Capturing internal customers' (NPDQ, Domain & EDM) requirements and prioritize activities.
• In-depth assessment of DFM with PD & supplier to establish a robust casting/machining/Forging process with quality system.
• Skill-set to ascertain quality disposition of parts and clear the approvals.
• Managing sudden / unforeseen challenges in development, supply chain & supplier process which affects parts quality & build timeline.
