Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (MECH/Automobile/Production) is required.
• 12–15 years of relevant experience in automotive or farm equipment sectors.
• Strong costing, budgeting and cost-optimization skills for powertrain.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team aligned with business goals.
• Lead design-to-cost initiatives and cost reductions through design iterations.
• Costing of ICE engine and transmission components, plus EPT/Hybrid systems.
• Support business case development and monitor material costs for powertrain.
• Ensure SBC accuracy and provide visibility of material costs to leadership.
• Mentor team members and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
• Techno Commercial knowledge of Automotive Powertrain and systems
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and succession planning.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to support business objectives and ensure seamless integration across different departments.

• Lead Design To Cost with stakeholders and Identify areas of cost reduction through design iteration and assist the design team in achieving cost targets
• Hands on Experience on Costing of ICE Engine and Transmisson Components,
• Hands on Experience on Costing of EPT/Hybrid Systems Components.
• Support Business case preparation, Monitoring & tracking for Material Cost of Powertrain systems (Engine,Aftertreatment System, Transmission)
• Evaluating Material Cost at System/Part level at different stage of Development of Product from Business case to SOP for Engine, After treatment System and transmission.
• Support Internal systems to facilitate necessary cost approvals due to all change events wrt Cost

• Facilitate internal systems to secure necessary cost approvals due to any cost-associated changes.
• Work closely with CFT to obtain desired cost inputs and ensure the accuracy of SBC
• Provide Visibility to senior leadership and other stakeholders on Material cost and highlight potential risk areas along with mitigation strategy.

Monitor industry trends and competitive benchmarking to inform strategic decisions.
