Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a cost-focused professional to manage product costing and RFQ processes for automotive, CV, and tractor programs. You will collaborate with development, manufacturing engineering and business teams to optimize BOMs and material choices.

The role emphasizes cost reduction during development, BOM interpretation, and applying knowledge of color, material, finishes, and polymers.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Product Costing or RFQ Management.
• Product Development experience will be an added skill.
• Exposure to BOM interpretation and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform should-be cost analysis and zero-based cost of trim components for automotive and tractors.
• Work in Costing/Development/Manufacturing Engineering or Business Development functions.
• Understand color, material, finishes, and polymer materials; interpret drawings and BOMs.
• Drive material cost reduction during development.
• Be aware of industry cost standards, labour, energy, and land rates across India.
• Monitor cost estimates across product lifecycle; benchmark parts by cost drivers.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• "1. Perform Should Be Cost/ Zero Based Cost of Trim Commodity Components -
  Exterior Trim: Bumpers, Claddings, Spoilers, Roof Rails, Footsteps,
  Interior Trim: Cockpit/ Instrument Panel, Door Trim, Floor Console
  Soft Trims: Headliner, Carpets, Sunvisor, NVH Acoustic Parts,
  Plastic Fuel Tanks and DEF Tank, for Automotives (PV and CV) and Tractors in line with Norms and Guidelines."
• "2. Should have background in either of the Function/s: Product Costing/ Product Development/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Business Development
  Should be adept with understanding of Color, Material, Finishes and Polymer Raw Materials and Manufacturing Processes"
• 3. Should be experienced in understanding Product Drawings/ 3D CAD data, Team Center, Bill Of Material Interpretation, Mold Specifications and Process Specifications
• 4. Should Drive Material Cost Reduction during the course of Development
• 5. Should have Experience in MHR Calcuation. Should be aware of Industry Standards regarding Interest Rates, Labour Rates, Power Rates, Land Rates across Demograhies in India
• 6. Should be disciplined in Monitoring Cost Estimations over Product Lifecycle
• 7. Benchmarking of Parts based on High Level and Low Level Cost Driver Inputs

Experience

3 to 5 yrs experience in Product Costing/ RFQ Management. Product Development Experience will be an added Skill Set
