Job Summary

Responsible for managing day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of employees, goods, or materials. The role involves coordinating drivers and vehicles, monitoring routes and schedules, maintaining transport records, and resolving operational issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily transport operations, schedules, routes, and vehicle allocation.
  • Coordinate with drivers, transport vendors, customers, and internal departments.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Plan routes to optimize travel time, fuel consumption, and transportation costs.
  • Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance, servicing, insurance, registration, and statutory requirements.
  • Track fuel consumption, mileage, vehicle utilization, and operating expenses.
  • Handle breakdowns, delays, accidents, and other transport-related emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, fuel, maintenance, and driver performance.
  • Verify transport invoices and supporting documents from vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet utilization and reduce transportation costs.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits and maintain proper transport documentation.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transport, fleet, logistics, or related operations.
  • Experience managing drivers, transport vendors, and vehicle fleets.
  • Good knowledge of route planning, fleet management, and transport documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and transport/fleet management systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle operational issues independently.
  • Valid driving licence is an advantage, where applicable.
