Job summary

JSW Steel in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee critical electrical, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and automation systems during shifts. The role focuses on reliability of transformers, MCCs, VFDs, motors and field instruments, with emphasis on preventive and breakdown maintenance.

The candidate should have 5-10 years in Sponge Iron Plant or related iron-making field, with a diploma or B.Tech/BE in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering as stated.
• 5-10 years of experience in Sponge Iron Plant or related iron making field.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, electrical maintenance, power distribution, plant operations, preventive and predictive maintenance, and electrical safety practices.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment such as HT/LT panels, motors, transformers, VFDs, MCCs, switchgear, PLC systems and other plant electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of Electrical, Instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and Automation systems during shift operations.
• Monitor, maintain and improve reliability of transformers, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, motors, switchgears and field instruments.
• Execute preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize availability.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring failures and implement CAPA.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, statutory requirements and safety standards.
• Lead shift maintenance and coordinate with operations to meet production targets with minimal disruption.

Preferred candidate profile
