Job description

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating production activities during assigned shifts in the aluminium billet manufacturing plant. The role ensures smooth operation of casting processes, adherence to quality standards, safety compliance, and achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Supervision

• Supervise aluminium billet casting operations during the assigned shift.
• Ensure production targets are achieved as per daily production plan.
• Monitor furnace operations, casting machines, cooling systems, and related equipment.
• Ensure proper alloy preparation and casting parameters are maintained.

2. Process Monitoring

• Monitor process parameters such as temperature, metal quality, casting speed, and cooling conditions.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

3. Manpower Management

• Allocate tasks to operators, technicians, and helpers during the shift.
• Monitor workforce performance and ensure discipline on the shop floor.
• Provide guidance and basic training to operators.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure billets meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with the Quality department for inspections and testing.
• Identify defects and implement corrective actions.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and plant safety regulations.
• Promote safe working practices and conduct safety checks during the shift.
• Report any safety incidents or hazards immediately.

6. Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the maintenance team for equipment breakdowns or preventive maintenance.
• Ensure machines and equipment are operating efficiently during the shift.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain shift production reports and operational logs.
• Record downtime, production output, and shift activities.
• Report shift performance to the Production Manager.

Required Skills
