Job summary

D S Alloyd Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to own the assigned product line from material receipt to final packaging and dispatch.

The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, monitoring daily targets, and ensuring quality and safety on the shop floor. You will lead shifts, manage inventory, and drive MIS reporting to support continuous improvement across production, procurement, and logistics.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, Mechanical or General Engineering.
• B.Sc with 25 years' hands-on shop-floor supervision experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Product Line Ownership: own the product line from raw material receipt through processing to final packaging and dispatch.
• Production Monitoring & Operations: supervise daily shift workers and plant operators to meet production targets and minimize waste and rejections.
• Raw Material Inventory & Stock Control: inspect storage bins/silos, maintain stock levels, and prompt requisitions to prevent downtime.
• Purchase & Dispatch Coordination: coordinate with Purchase/Stores/Logistics to replenish materials and ensure on-time packaging and dispatch.
• Data Management & MIS Reporting: maintain daily production logs, material usage, yield reports, batch sheets, and dispatch registers.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: work with QC and Maintenance to maintain quality, reduce breakdowns, and ensure shop-floor safety.
• Team Handling & Inter-Department Coordination: manage the product team and coordinate with all internal departments to optimize results.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• End-to-End Product Line Ownership: Take complete responsibility for the assigned product line, overseeing all operational stages from raw material receipt through processing to final packaging and dispatch.
• Production Monitoring & Operations: Supervise daily shift workers and plant operators to achieve production targets, maintain batch output consistency, and minimize material wastage and rejection.
• Raw Material Inventory & Stock Control: Regularly inspect and audit dedicated raw material storage bins/silos for the assigned product line; ensure optimal stock levels and timely indenting/requisition to prevent production downtime.
• Purchase & Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate closely with Purchase, Stores, and Logistics teams to request raw material replenishment and facilitate on-time packaging and dispatch of finished goods.
• Data Management & MIS Reporting: Maintain meticulous daily production logs, material consumption records, yield reports, batch sheets, and dispatch registers for the assigned product line.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Collaborate with Quality Control and Maintenance teams to maintain product quality standards, minimize machine breakdowns, and ensure safety compliance on the shop floor.
• Team Handling & Inter Departments Coordination: Able to handle and work with team allocated to the product, maintain and keep timely coordination with all internal departments in the work area and assure maximum better results.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

• Achievement of daily/monthly shift production targets for the assigned product line
• Accuracy of raw material inventory counts and zero line shutdowns due to stockouts
• Product yield optimization and raw material wastage reduction
• On-time packaging, loading, and dispatch execution
• 100% compliance with daily production documentation, batch sheets, and MIS logs

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Education & Experience: Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, Mechanical, or General Engineering / B.Sc with 25 years of hands-on shop-floor supervision experience in manufacturing, steel, metals, ferro-alloys, or chemical process plants.
• Technical & Operational Skills: Strong operational control over production processes, material handling, inventory tracking, basic shop-floor maintenance awareness, and dispatch procedures.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: High degree of personal ownership, strong worker management capability, good reporting/data entry skills, and cross-departmental coordination (Purchase, Stores, Quality).
