Job summary

Third Wave Coffee in Manipal is seeking a shift leader to manage day-to-day caf operations during the assigned shift. You will lead, deploy and support the barista and team members to ensure smooth operations and a high standard of service.

The role focuses on product quality, recipe adherence, customer experience, cash handling, POS operations, shift handovers and maintaining hygiene and SOP compliance; you will coach staff and escalate issues to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day caf operations during the assigned shift.
• Lead, deploy and support the Barista/team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure product quality, recipe adherence, service standards and customer experience
• Handle customer queries, feedback and complaints and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor sales, productivity, inventory and wastage
• Ensure proper cash handling, POS operations and shift reconciliation
• Conduct shift briefings, allocate responsibilities and ensure proper shift handovers.
• Maintain hygiene, grooming, food safety and SOP compliance
• Ensure timely replenishment of caf stock, merchandise and display units.
• Follow equipment SOPs and report maintenance issues for timely resolution.
• Drive suggestive selling and help improve caf sales.
• Coach and train team members on the job and support their development.
• Escalate critical people, operational or maintenance issues to the Store Manager.
• Create a safe, clean and positive workplace and take ownership of the overall shift.
