Job summary

MSA Instruments is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain industrial instruments and automation systems at customer sites across sectors. You will lead field service activities, provide technical guidance, prepare service reports, and coordinate with sales, projects and procurement to ensure timely, cost‑effective service.

A Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in instrumentation or a related discipline with 10–15 years of hands‑on experience is required; willingness

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, process control, or field service.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial instruments and control systems.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work independently.
• Experience in process industries, EPCs, system integrators or industrial automation companies preferred.

About the Role:

MSA Instruments is looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Service Engineer to handle installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of industrial instruments and automation systems. The role involves providing timely technical support to customers, diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring smooth operation of instruments at customer sites. The candidate will also be responsible for service documentation, customer coordination, and providing technical guidance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction .

Job Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission and troubleshoot industrial process instruments and automation systems.
• Provide technical support for flow, level, pressure, temperature and other process measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, control panels and automation systems as applicable.
• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
• Attend customer breakdown/service calls and resolve technical issues within the committed timeline.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare service, installation, commissioning, breakdown and calibration reports.
• Maintain proper records of customer equipment, service history and spare requirements.
• Guide and provide technical support to Junior and Trainee Service Engineers.
• Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Procurement, Logistics and other departments for service requirements.
• Execute AMC/service contract activities according to the agreed schedule.
• Identify requirements for spare parts, repairs, replacements, upgrades and additional service opportunities.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Follow all company and customer safety procedures and site regulations

Key Skills

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in industrial instrumentation, process control, or field service.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial instruments and control systems.
• Experience in customer-site service and field troubleshooting is preferred.
• Candidates with experience in process industries, manufacturing plants, EPC companies, system integrators or industrial automation companies will be preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Must be capable of effectively managing the entire service team, mentoring and supporting junior team members, and providing training whenever required to enhance their technical skills and performance.
• Good verbal and written communication
• Estimate the cost of service-related materials, spare parts, consumables, cables, fittings and accessories required for the job. Coordinate material cost inputs from principals, vendors and procurement; and provide accurate material and service cost estimates to the Sales/Commercial team for preparation of customer offers and tenders.

Education Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and other documentation required for service
