Job summary

Intas in Gujarat is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to lead calibration, maintenance, and systems optimization across production blocks.

You will oversee PLC/SCADA/DCS architectures, ensure 21 CFR Part 11 data integrity, mentor a team, manage budgets, and drive CAPEX upgrades while coordinating with project teams and external contractors. The role requires 7–15 years of domain expertise and a degree in instrumentation.

Qualifications

• 7–15 years of instrumentation domain experience.
• B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Instrumentation required.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and validation processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of process instruments; calibrations and breakdown maintenance.
• Manage PLC/SCADA/DCS architectures; ensure 21 CFR Part 11 data integrity; backups and access controls.
• Lead IQ, OQ, PQ protocols for new installations; update SOPs and change controls; support audits.
• Mentor junior engineers; manage spare parts budgets and calibration contracts; coordinate CAPEX with project teams.

Role & responsibilities: -

Calibration & Maintenance

• Manage scheduled and breakdown maintenance of all process instruments.
• Oversee site-wide calibration programs for sensors, transmitters, and controllers.
• Troubleshoot complex loops, control valves, and analytical instruments.
• Direct emergency repair operations to minimize production downtime. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Automation & Systems Control

• Maintain PLC, SCADA, and DCS architectures across production blocks.
• Ensure Data Integrity compliance for computerized systems (21 CFR Part 11).
• Manage software backups, user access levels, and system audit trails.
• Program and modify logic sequences for process optimizations. [1]

Validation & Compliance

• Execute IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols for new instrument installations.
• Author and update SOPs, deviation reports, and change controls.
• Face regulatory audits (FDA, MHRA, WHO) as the technical subject matter expert.
• Investigate out-of-calibration (OOC) events and implement corrective actions (CAPA). [1, 2]

Project & Team Leadership

• Supervise and mentor a team of junior engineers and technicians.
• Manage annual operational budgets for spare parts and calibration contracts.
• Collaborate with project teams on capital expenditure (CAPEX) upgrades.
