Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Thane is seeking a senior control engineer to drive the global program for control performance and alarm system optimization across production facilities. You will improve PID performance, implement best-in-class alarm management, and ensure PCT compliance for functional safety, OT security and lifecycle management.

You will train operations and engineering teams on control tuning, deploy loop health monitoring tools, and collaborate with regional experts and rollout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in process control engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PID tuning, loop analysis and alarm management.

Responsibilities

• Drive the global rollout of control performance monitoring (CPM) and alarm management optimization programs.
• Assess and improve PID loop performance across plants (stability, responsiveness, variability reduction).
• Implement and sustain alarm rationalization programs aligned with ISA 18.2 / EEMUA 191 standards.
• Support PCT compliance towards functional safety, OT security and lifecycle management.
• Train operations and engineering teams on control tuning and alarm philosophy.
• Deploy tools for continuous monitoring of loop health and alarm KPIs.
• Collaborate with digital initiatives and data platforms for dashboards.

Job Highlights

Drive the global program for control performance and alarm system optimization across LANXESS production facilities. The role ensures stable, reliable, and efficient plant operations by improving basic regulatory control (PID performance) and implementing best-in-class alarm management practices, in alignment with global standards and in close collaboration with regional experts and rollout teams. Ensure and support to implement PCT compliance towards functional safety, OT security and lifecycle management.

1. Drive the global rollout of control performance monitoring (CPM) and alarm management optimization programs
2. Assess and improve PID loop performance across plants (stability, responsiveness, variability reduction)
3. Implement and sustain alarm rationalization programs aligned with standards (e.g., ISA 18.2 / EEMUA 191)
4. Ensure and support to implement PCT compliance towards functional safety, OT security and lifecycle management.

• Special Skills Strong foundation in process control engineering (PID tuning, loop analysis), alarm management principles and experience with CPM tools, Experience in Chemical Plant, Stakeholder management and communication skills, Solid foundation in PLC, DCS, Functional Safety, IT/OT convergence & OT security
