Job Summary: -
Plan and control production, materials, capacity, inventory, and subcontracting activities to achieve customer delivery commitments,optimizeresourceutilization, prevent line stoppages, andmaintainaccurateplanning and inventory information. The role coordinates cross-functionally to translate demand into executable production plans and drives corrective action when performance deviates from plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : -
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Own andmaintainthe Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand, available capacity, material readiness, inventory targets, and customer priorities.
- Prepare and release daily, weekly, and monthly production plans; monitor plan versus actual performance and initiate recovery actions for deviations.
- Perform capacity planning, load analysis, bottleneck identification, and line-balancing support to enable realistic and stable schedules.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Sales / Commercial teams to align priorities and constraints.
- Participate in S&OP / demand-supply review processes and communicate supply risks, capacity gaps, and mitigation plans.
Materials and Inventory Control
- Run and review MRP outputs in ERP SAP S/4HANA; manage planning exceptions, shortages, rescheduling requirements, and material availability to prevent line stoppages.
- Monitor inventory levels, WIP, safety stocks, ageing, excess and obsolete exposure, and material yield; recommend actions tooptimizeworking capital.
- Conduct monthly stock taking, physical stock verification, inventory reconciliation, and preparation of WIP stock statements.
- Maintain planning master data and ensure the accuracy of bills of material, lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, and planning parameters in coordination with relevant functions.
Delivery and Execution Control
- Ensure on-time and in-full delivery against customer commitments and providetimely, fact-based delivery status updates to customer-facing departments.
- Monitor production order progress,identifyschedule risks, and escalates constraints with clear recovery plans and ownership.
- Prepare daily production and MIS reports with concise commentary on plan attainment, shortages, delays, risks, and required decisions.
Subcontracting Management
- Plan and execute subcontracted items, includingtimelymovement and receipt of materials and components.
- Monitor subcontractor delivery, quality, material accounting, reconciliation, and yield; drive corrective and preventive actions for abnormalities.
- Improve and stabilize subcontracted material quality and delivery performance in collaboration with Procurement and Quality.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Initiate and support cost, lead-time, inventory, productivity, and process-improvement projects using structured problem-solving methods.
- Maintain required planning and production documentation in Windchill and applicable systems.
- Ensure correction and corrective action for planning abnormalities, inventory discrepancies, and recurring delivery failures.
- Follow applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and company procedures, with a strong Gemba orientation.
Key Performance Indicators
- Production plan attainment and schedule adherence.
- On-time in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.
- Material availability and line-stoppage prevention.
- Inventory accuracy, WIP, ageing, and excess / obsolete inventory.
- MRP exception closure and shortage recovery.
- Subcontractor delivery, quality, reconciliation, and material yield performance.
- Timeliness and accuracy of production / MIS reporting.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ PG Operations, Supply Chain, Business, oranother relevant discipline (not mandatory).
Experience
3-8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in production planning, scheduling, material control, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
Systems
Workingproficiencyin ERP platforms, preferably SAP S/4HANA, including MRP, production planning, inventory, and reporting transactions. Familiarity with Windchill.
Knowledge
Production planning, forecasting, MPS, MRP, capacity planning, inventory control, subcontracting, supply chain coordination, and performance reporting.
