Overview
The PPC Senior Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure smooth production flow, optimum resource utilization, timely material availability, and on-time delivery of products. The role involves close coordination with Production, Purchase, Design, Stores, and Quality teams for efficient execution of production plans in a customized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and plant capacity.
- Develop detailed production schedules to achieve targeted output and delivery timelines.
- Optimize machine loading, manpower utilization, and production sequencing.
- Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Plan raw material requirements as per production schedules and generate Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
- Monitor material availability to avoid shortages and production interruptions.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores departments for timely procurement and inwarding of materials.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess stock and wastage.
- Production Monitoring & Control
- Track daily production progress against planned targets.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions for smooth workflow.
- Ensure adherence to production timelines and monitor pending orders.
- Prepare and maintain production MIS reports, planning records, and status updates.
- Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering teams for BOMs, drawings, and technical clarifications.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Dispatch, and Sales teams for seamless operations.
- Support management in capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Delivery & Dispatch Management
- Ensure timely completion and dispatch of finished goods as per customer commitments.
- Monitor order execution status and prioritize urgent requirements.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce delays.
- Implement planning control measures for improved operational efficiency.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production-related issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Experience in Production Planning & Control, Manufacturing Operations, or Supply Chain Management. Experience in customized fabrication/manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of PPC functions, inventory management, and production scheduling. Proficiency in SAP (PP/MM Modules), ERP systems, and Advanced Excel. Understanding of BOM management, production workflow, and capacity planning.
