Job summary

UNO MINDA in Pune is seeking an Assistant Manager PPC to manage capacity planning, production scheduling, material planning and supplier coordination for uninterrupted production.

You will drive internal and supplier plans, monitor safety stocks, and ensure 100% on-time supply while aligning with IATF16949 and ISO requirements.

Qualifications

  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5–10 years in PPC, production planning, material planning or supply-chain, preferably automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, material planning, MRP and inventory control.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, preferably in PPC/MM-related activities.
  • Good understanding of BOM, child parts, bought-out parts, imported components, safety stock and supplier planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a customer-driven, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and monitor capacity planning for N+3 months across the plant based on demand and capacity.
  • Prepare and execute internal production plans aligned to customer requirements.
  • Strive for 100% on-time customer supply and prevent delivery failures.
  • Define and monitor safety stock levels per norms to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Plan and schedule child-part requirements, including in-house, bought-out and imported components.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Purchase and Engineering to ensure smooth execution.
  • Ensure SAP master data creation, correction and updation as per needs.

Position: Assistant Manager PPC
Department: Production Planning & Control
Location: Pune
Industry: Automotive / Auto Components – 4-Wheeler Lighting
Reporting To: Plant Head / PPC Head

Job Purpose

To manage capacity planning, production scheduling, material planning and supplier coordination to ensure uninterrupted production, optimum inventory levels, and 100% on-time customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Planning & Execution
  • Prepare and monitor capacity planning for N+3 months across the plant based on customer demand and available capacity.
  • Prepare and execute internal production plans in line with customer requirements.
  • Take proactive actions to achieve 100% on-time customer supply and prevent delivery failures.
  • Define and monitor safety stock levels as per company norms to ensure uninterrupted customer supply.
  • Plan and schedule child-part requirements, including in-house, bought-out and imported components.
  • Monitor plan vs. actual production, identify gaps, and coordinate corrective actions with Production and other functions.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Purchase and Engineering to ensure smooth execution of the production plan.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Customer Audit and EHS requirements related to PPC activities.
  • Ensure timely creation, correction and updation of SAP master data as per business and planning requirements.
2. Supplier Part Procurement & Planning
  • Prepare and monitor supplier part planning for domestic and imported components based on production and customer requirements.
  • Ensure on-time procurement and availability of supplier parts to support production and customer deliveries.
  • Monitor and maintain safety stock for Y & Z category parts as per defined norms.
  • Ensure timely release of Purchase Orders (POs) to respective suppliers based on material requirements.
  • Follow up with suppliers for PO commitments, delivery schedules, shortages and critical parts.
  • Manage the Supplier Portal, including forecasts, schedules, delivery commitments and supplier-related transactions.
  • Coordinate with Purchase and suppliers to resolve material shortages and delivery issues.
  • Ensure timely correction and updation of supplier-related master data in SAP.
3. Inventory & Material Control
  • Monitor RM, child parts, WIP and finished-goods inventory against defined norms.
  • Identify excess, shortage and slow-moving inventory and initiate corrective actions.
  • Optimize inventory while ensuring continuous production and customer supply.
  • Monitor critical and long-lead-time components and establish appropriate planning actions.
4. MIS & Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare and maintain PPC MIS, planning reports and management dashboards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as Customer OTD, Plan vs. Actual, Inventory, Material Availability, Supplier OTD and Schedule Adherence.
  • Escalate critical shortages, capacity constraints and potential delivery risks to management.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in PPC, production planning, material planning or supply-chain functions, preferably in the automotive / auto-component industry.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, material planning, MRP and inventory control.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP, preferably in PPC/MM-related activities.
  • Good understanding of BOM, child parts, bought-out parts, imported components, safety stock and supplier planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
