Job summary

VR Coatings is seeking a PPC Engineer to plan, schedule, monitor, and control production activities in a manufacturing setting. The role focuses on optimising manpower, machine capacity and material availability to ensure timely customer order completion.

Key responsibilities include preparing detailed production plans, managing SAP-based production orders, coordinating with multiple departments, and maintaining BOMs and routings. Strong SAP, MRP, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/B.Tech in mechanical/production/industrial engineering or equivalent.
• 35 years of relevant experience in Production Planning & Control in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in SAP/ERP-based production planning is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and capacity.
• Create and monitor production orders and schedules in SAP.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Design and Dispatch for smooth production flow.
• Check material availability and identify shortages before production commencement.
• Monitor machine and manpower capacity and plan production accordingly.
• Track production progress against planned quantities and delivery schedules.
• Identify production delays, bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
• Monitor WIP and ensure timely movement of materials between processes.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly PPC reports.
• Analyse plan vs. actual production and identify deviations.
• Maintain and monitor BOMs, routings, production orders and manufacturing lead times in SAP.
• Coordinate priority orders and delivery commitments with Sales and Production.
• Ensure accuracy and timely updating of PPC data in SAP.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce production lead times and improve utilisation.
• Provide management with production MIS, capacity reports and other planning-related information.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Required:

• 35 years of relevant experience in Production Planning & Control in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in machine-shop and assembly manufacturing preferred.
• Prior experience working with SAP/ERP-based production planning is required.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
• Production scheduling and capacity planning.
• Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
• Knowledge of BOM, routing and production orders.
• Working knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of SAP PP/MM modules preferred.
• Production order creation, monitoring and closure.
• Inventory and material availability planning.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC, VMC, turning, milling, grinding, fabrication and assembly preferred.
