Job summary

Idexcel is seeking a mechanically trained engineer with 5–8 years of experience for Detailed Engineering in the Solar PV sector. The role entails governance, technical validation and EPC oversight, focusing on plant layout, foundations, MMS, earthing and power evacuation.

You will review technical reports, vendor TERs and ensure design compliance with IS/IEC standards. Based in Bangalore, the candidate should be ready for immediate to 15 days notice and contribute to high-quality, install-ready

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any discipline.
• 5–8 years of overall experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with FAT procedures and EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering governance and technical validation for Solar PV projects.
• Act as independent technical review and approval authority for project execution teams.
• Review plant layout drawings, GA drawings, installation principles and construction documents.
• Validate MMS design (fixed tilt/tracker) and foundation designs against wind/seismic loads.

Role Overview

• Provide engineering governance, technical validation, construction assurance, and EPC oversight support for Solar PV projects.
• Will be part of a team acting as an independent technical review and approval authority supporting project execution teams.
• Solar PV: plant layout, foundations, mechanical structures, earthing & lightning, pooling substation, and power evacuation.
• Experience in solar plant engineering and construction.
• Hands on experience with FAT procedures, vendor inspections, and technical approvals.
• Strong experience with EPC projects, and renewable energy standards.

• Review & Approve detail design documents like plant layout drawings (solar array, wind turbine layout, substations, pooling stations), general arrangement (GA) drawings, Installation principles and construction methodology documents
• Experience in BOQ analysis.
• Review and validate design of Module Mounting Structure (MMS) (fixed tilt & tracker), Verify design calculations (wind load, seismic, dead loads), Check foundation designs (pile / RCC / MMS systems), Validate design assumptions vs actual site conditions, Ensure design adequacy, safety margins, and constructability.
• Review vendor technical evaluation reports (TER)
• Validate compliance of Modules / PCS / Inverters, Transformers & BESS containers
• Strong coordination and communication skills with OEMs, EPCs, and internal teams.
• Ensure detailed review oriented with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of IS Codes & IEC standards, Survey drawings & topography.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and test reports.
• In-depth Knowledge of detail design of Solar, in particular experience in plant layout design and arrangement of equipment and procurement processes.
