Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group in India seeks an engineer to manage product development and vendor standardization. Responsibilities include feasibility checks, tooling design, and establishing SOPs for new products.

You will collaborate closely with purchasing for cost reduction and execute projects within set timelines, enhancing quality and service lead times across plants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manufacturing feasibility checks based on product/customer needs.
• Develop tooling and fixture designs to meet product requirements.
• Establish SOPs and control plans for new product development.
• Standardize vendor processes for toolings and semi-finished goods.
• Collaborate with purchasing on rate contracts and cost reduction.
• Design using Solid Edge or similar modeling tools.
• Program CNC machining setups with Mastercam.
• Lead projects for process improvements and cost reductions.
• Manage Capex projects to meet technical and timeline requirements.
• Coordinate development of engineered components across plants.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manufacturing feasibility check by understanding product / customer requirements with respect to inhouse / vendor capabilities
• Develop methods to achieve product requirements (especially GD&T) through right process and design development of toolings & fixtures
• Establish & standardise SOP, Control plans for new development product & processes
• Vendor development & standardisation of vendors for toolings, semi FGs with right processes and documentations
• Work closely with purchasing for outsourced operations rate contracts and cost reduction needs of business
• Design working with Solid Edge (preferred) or any other modelling tools
• CNC Machining: Programming , tools & Setup establishment with aid of Master cam for new parts
• Drive Existing processes Improvements: Loss reductions & cost reduction projects
• Project Management: Execute Capex projects meeting technical requirements (Equipment selection, Purchasing, validation/ testing , commissioning) within business time line needs
• Engineered components development & liaisoning with other plants ensuring quality and service lead times
