Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager Machine Maintenance

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Machine Maintenance Engineer to manage maintenance and troubleshooting activities for production machinery in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in VMC/CNC machines, mechanical equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics and breakdown maintenance, with a focus on maintaining machine availability and ensuring smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Maintenance

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery.
• Troubleshoot and rectify machine breakdowns independently.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VMC/CNC machines and related equipment.
• Work with Fanuc and Mitsubishi CNC controllers.
• Diagnose and rectify hydraulic and pneumatic system issues.
• Carry out gearbox maintenance and overhauling.
• Perform maintenance of pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Ensure maximum machine availability for continuous production.

Breakdown & Troubleshooting

• Analyze machine breakdowns and identify root causes.
• Carry out corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring failures.
• Handle critical breakdowns independently and minimize machine downtime.
• Maintain machine history cards, logbooks and breakdown records.
• Conduct Why-Why Analysis and root cause analysis.

Preventive Maintenance & TPM

• Execute planned preventive maintenance activities for production machinery.
• Monitor MTTR and MTBF and identify improvement areas.
• Participate in TPM and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure timely maintenance of critical production equipment.
• Manage maintenance spares for shop-floor machinery.

Production & Shift Support

• Ensure production machines remain operational and support stable production.
• Coordinate maintenance activities during shifts.
• Communicate machine status, breakdowns and pending maintenance activities during shift handovers.
• Work closely with production teams for timely resolution of machine issues.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow 5S, LOTO and industrial safety requirements.
• Ensure safe working practices during machine maintenance and breakdown activities.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and discipline in the maintenance and production areas.
