Job description

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, reconditioning and reliability improvement of CNC and conventional machine tools, ensuring maximum machine availability and minimum downtime.

1.Breakdown & Troubleshooting

• Attend and resolve breakdowns of HMC, VMC, VTL, Turning and Grinding machines.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and identify root causes of recurring failures.
• Carry out repairs, replacement and adjustment of machine components.
• Reduce machine downtime through quick and effective troubleshooting.

2. Preventive Maintenance

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for HMC, VMC, VTL, Turning and Grinding machines.
• Inspect and maintain spindles, bearings, guideways, ball screws, gearboxes, lubrication systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain machine history and PM checklists.
• Identify potential failures and take corrective action before breakdowns occur.

3. Machine Re-conditioning

• Possess knowledge of machine reconditioning and restoration activities.
• Assess worn-out machine components and recommend repair/replacement.
• Support machine accuracy restoration, alignment and leveling activities.
• Coordinate overhaul and reconditioning of critical machines.

4. Maintenance Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze breakdown trends and recurring failures.
• Use 7 QC Tools for problem-solving and maintenance analysis.
• Apply Why-Why Analysis for Root Cause Analysis.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions to eliminate repeated breakdowns.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, machine availability and breakdown frequency.

5. Oracle Maintenance System

• Record and update breakdown entries in Oracle.
• Prepare and manage Preventive Maintenance schedules through Oracle.
• Maintain equipment maintenance history and records.
• Manage spare parts requirements, availability and consumption through Oracle.
• Coordinate with Stores/Purchase for critical spare availability.
