About the role

Scrum Manager (Engineering)

RHIA is on a mission to bring complete visibility and unified intelligence to the global hospitality industry. We are seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Scrum Manager to join our Engineering team in Gurgaon. In this mid-level position, you will be the servant-leader for one of our agile product development teams, facilitating the processes that help us build a seamless platform that integrates PMS, CRM, booking engines, and more.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) for one or more engineering squads, ensuring they are effective and time-boxed.
• Coach the development team and product stakeholders on agile principles and Scrum theory and practice, fostering a self-organizing and high-performing team culture.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to support backlog grooming, refinement, and prioritization to ensure clarity and readiness for development.
• Remove impediments and blockers for the team, escalating issues when necessary, and shielding the team from external distractions to ensure a sustainable pace of work.
• Track and communicate team progress and velocity using appropriate agile metrics (e.g., burn-down charts, cumulative flow), promoting transparency within the team and for stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and help implement improvements to the team’s processes, tools, and engineering practices to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive environment where team members are empowered to do their best work.
• Champion quality practices within the team, supporting efforts in continuous integration, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience (3+ years) as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
• Practical knowledge of agile methodologies, frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and software development life cycles.
• Strong facilitative, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical team members and business stakeholders.
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar agile project management tools.
• A servant-leadership mindset, with a focus on team needs and enabling success.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the hospitality technology, SaaS, or a related B2B enterprise software domain.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach for a software development team, preferably in SaaS, PaaS, or data platform environments.
• Deep, practical understanding of Scrum and Kanban frameworks, with a track record of adapting practices to team needs.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to engage both technical engineers and business stakeholders.
• Experience working with backend/integration-heavy projects, APIs, or data engineering teams is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Git).
• A servant-leader mindset, with a focus on enabling team success rather than directing tasks.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar accreditation is preferred.
