Mid DevOps Engineer
Location: Gurgaon, India | Seniority: Mid-Level | Company: RHIA | HQ: Dubai, UAE | Industry: Hospitality Technology
About RHIA
Hotels already have great systems. They just don’t talk to each other. RHIA unifies every data stream across an operation—PMS, CRM, booking engines, F&B, and beyond—into a single platform for complete, real-time visibility. Founded by industry veterans, hotel owners, and institutional investors, our mission is to shape the future of hospitality intelligence. Join us in building the next chapter.
About the Role
We are seeking a collaborative and skilled Mid DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be instrumental in building, scaling, and securing the resilient infrastructure that powers our real-time data unification platform. Your work will ensure the seamless, secure, and reliable flow of data between diverse hotel systems (PMS, CRM, F&B, etc.), directly impacting the operational intelligence of our clients. You will champion modern DevOps practices—infrastructure-as-code, robust CI/CD, and comprehensive monitoring—to support our rapid growth and product evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient, primarily focusing on AWS or GCP environments.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to ensure reproducible and version-controlled environments.
- Build, optimize, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and automated software deployments.
- Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and proactive incident response.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering and data teams to streamline development workflows, enhance system reliability, and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Champion and implement security best practices across the infrastructure, including network security, access controls, and data protection measures.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, system performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Document system architecture, processes, and runbooks to foster knowledge sharing and team efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience (typically 2-4 years) in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
- Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, particularly Terraform.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
- Practical knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, security principles, and database systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the hospitality technology sector or with integrating hotel systems (PMS, CRM, etc.).
- Knowledge of data pipeline tools and streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow).
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
- Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate).
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced scaling environment.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to solve complex, real-world problems for a global industry.
- A collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work culture where your ideas are valued.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Professional growth opportunities in a fast-paced, scaling startup.
- Flexible work arrangements [insert specific policy details if applicable].
- A chance to work with a passionate team of industry veterans and technologists.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure (likely AWS) using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to support RHIA's real-time data ingestion and processing pipeline from hotel systems (e.g., Opera, Protel, SiteMinder).
- Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for deploying and updating microservices critical for hotel data synchronization, ensuring zero-downtime for client operations.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus/Grafana), and alerting for system performance, data stream health, and security across the hospitality tech stack.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to containerize services using Docker/Kubernetes, optimizing for the variable data loads typical of hotel booking engines and guest activity.
- Establish and enforce cloud security, compliance, and access controls, particularly for handling sensitive hotel guest data (PII) and financial transaction streams.
- Automate operational tasks related to system scaling, backups, and disaster recovery, ensuring high availability aligns with hotel industry uptime expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues impacting data flow between integrated hotel systems, providing pivotal support for platform reliability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering experience, with a proven track record in cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP considered).
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and configuring CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and managing containerized applications at scale.
- Solid background in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and implementing monitoring/observability stacks.
- Practical knowledge of networking, security best practices, and database operations relevant to multi-service, data-intensive platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a small, agile team, directly impacting the stability of a product unifying critical hotel systems.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a fully technical team in a startup environment.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in hospitality technology, travel tech, or with integrating hotel-specific systems (PMS, Channel Managers, POS).
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Airflow) or analytics platforms in a production context.
- Experience in a early-stage startup (Seed/Series A) and building infrastructure from early phases.
- Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
