Suryadev Alloys And Power is seeking a safety professional to oversee hazard identification, compliance, incident investigation, training, and contractor oversight at our Tamil Nadu plant.

The role emphasizes enforcing the Factories Act and OSHA standards, leading root-cause analyses for accidents, delivering safety inductions and drills for employees and on-site contractors, and ensuring proper PPE and permit-to-work practices.

Responsibilities

• Hazard Identification: Inspect blast furnaces, melting shops, and rolling mills using JSA and HIRA.
• Compliance Enforcement: Enforce statutory laws like the Factories Act and OSHA standards, maintaining safety registers and coordinating with factory inspectors.
• Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analyses for accidents or near-misses and draft CAPA plans.
• Training & Drills: Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency evacuation mock drills for employees and on-site contractors.
• Contractor & PPE Oversight: Monitor adherence to permit-to-work systems, lockout-tagout (LOTO) energy isolation, and proper usage of heat-resistant PPE.

2. Compliance Enforcement: Enforce statutory laws like the Factories Act and OSHA standards, maintaining safety registers and coordinating with factory inspectors.

3. Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analyses for accidents or near-misses and draft corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.

4. Training & Drills: Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency evacuation mock drills for employees and on-site contractors.

5. Contractor & PPE Oversight: Monitor adherence to permit-to-work systems, lockout-tagout (LOTO) energy isolation, and proper usage of heat-resistant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Preferred candidate profile

Certifications: Preferred global credentials include NEBOSH, IOSH, or local State Factory Inspectorate approval eligibility.
