Job summary

Hubert Enviro Care Systems in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop and enforce workplace safety policies across industrial sites. The role will drive hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety program implementation to reduce incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will conduct trainings, audits, and safety drills, oversee PPE usage, investigate incidents, and promote a proactive culture of safety, health, and environmental stewardship across operations.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in industrial safety, HSE, or EHS roles.
• Strong knowledge of OHS standards and OSHA/Factory Act compliance.
• Experience in risk assessments (HIRA) and JSA.
• Skilled in safety audits, investigations, and training delivery.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies and procedures.
  
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
  
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (OSHA, Factory Act, local laws) and company safety standards.
  
• Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment Reports, and Safety Checklists.
  
• Conduct safety inductions, training sessions, and toolbox talks for employees.
  
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events; prepare investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Monitor the proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  
• Coordinate and execute emergency response drills (fire drills, evacuation drills, and mock drills).
  
• Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and compliance reports.
  
• Promote a proactive safety culture, awareness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / Degree in Safety, Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, or a related Engineering field.
  
• 3-7 years of experience in industrial safety, HSE, or EHS roles.
  
• Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety (OHS) standards, statutory compliance, and industrial safety regulations (OSHA, Factory Act, etc.).
  
• Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  
• Skilled in conducting safety audits, inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
  
• Proficient in safety training, toolbox talks, and promoting a safety culture.
  
• Knowledge of PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fire safety, and emergency response procedures.
  
• Awareness of hazardous area safety (ATEX/IECEx) and environmental compliance.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
• Willingness to work in industrial environments, shifts, and emergency situations.
